Estimator - Paving and Earthworks

Nagle Earthworks is seeking a detailed and experienced Paving and Earthwork Estimator to join our team.  The successful candidate will be responsible for calculating the total cost of a Construction project by analyzing plans, specs, estimating material, labor and equipment needs and preparing competitive bids for various site work projects including excavation, grading and Asphalt/Concrete paving for both private and public works projects.

Key Responsibilities

Key duties include performing quantity take-offs for earthwork and paving, reviewing project specifications, and plans, collaborating with clients and contractors, and preparing detailed cost estimates. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of civil construction processes.

• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and managing change orders.
• Conduct site visits to take measurements and assess site conditions.                     
• Monitor ongoing job costs and recommend adjustments to maintain profitability. 

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, with specific experience in earthwork, grading, and asphalt/concrete paving in public and private sectors.  Proficiency in estimating software and strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong mathematical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to interpret complex data to ensure estimate accuracy. Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
